Invited Lectures

2007   (June) “Culture and the Construction of Islandness”, An Island Studies Conference held at the University of Prince Edward Island,  It was the 3rd International Conference on Small Island Cultures.  I was invited to present “An Islander’s Perspective” a sound and visual presentation.
2007   (April) “Out of Our Minds Gallery “ A two day workshop on Aluminium Etching, Murray Harbour, PEI
2007    (March) Art Smarts Project with Souris Consolidated School “Introduction to Non-Toxic Printmaking and Aluminium Etching” Grade 1 to grade 8 students took part in the project.
2006    (June) A workshop introducing Polyester Plate Lithography with grade 7 students, grade 9 students and teachers at East Wiltshire School in the Industrial Arts Lab.
2006   (May) A teachers workshop, Introduction to Polyester Plate Lithography that was put on by the PEI Visual Arts Teachers Association.
2006   (Feb.) Art Smarts  Project with Stone Park Intermediate School,  Introduction to Non-Toxic Printmaking and Aluminium Etching, Ten Grade 9 classes took part,  Approx. 300 students and teachers.
2006   (Jan.) “Introduction to Aluminium Etching” with education students at the University of Prince Edward Island, in the Art Bunker at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
2006   (Fall) “Mono-printing with nature and transparent paste workshop” with the University of Prince Edward Island elementary education students at the  Art Bunker in the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
2005   (Fall) “Introduction to Non-Toxic Printmaking and Aluminium Etching” with the University of Prince Edward Island elementary education students at the Art Bunker in the Confederation Centre.
2005   (Spring)   "Non-Toxic Printmaking" for the Visual Art Students at Westisle Composite High School.
2004   (Spring) “Introduction to Non-Toxic Printmaking” for art teachers in the Intermediate school system, held at my Studio.
     

Solo Exhibitions

 2007   “An Islander’s Perspective” sound and image, combination of computer generated images with sound and hand pulled Intaglio type prints. Showing took place in May at the University of Prince Edward Island, in the CMTC Lab classroom.

Present Interests

The continuing study of Non-Toxic printmaking  and the exploration of new Non-Toxic printmaking methods for my art work.

Spring 2008

 Working on the Cultural Archives for CMTC Digital Library project ingesting  Island images and sound into fedora (Fedora is a general-purpose, open-source digital object repository system).

CMTC (Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Research in Culture, Multimedia, Technology, and Cognition)   at the University of Prince Edward Island.

Fall 2008

Fully immersed in working on a show called “One With Copper”.  For more information about the show, check out Debra’s Blog page. 

Spring 2009

Presently working on the solo show "One With Copper" and moving the family and studio to another Province in Canada.  Lots more information on my weekly blog!

Summer& Fall 2009

Living in Ottawa, Ontario and unpacking (almost done).
